FOURTH ANNUAL DOG BOWL

Sunday, June 6     1 – 5 p.m.

The Cotton Bowl Stadium at Fair Park
3750 Midway Plaza, Dallas, TX 75210

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Once again, Cotton Bowl field transforms into Texas-sized dog park with splash pools, freebies, an agility course, music, “mutt-nuptials,” caricatures, a canine contest and other pooch pleasers

As promised, Fair Park will once again unlatch the gates to the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium for the free, family-fun Dog Bowl on Sunday, June 6, from 1 – 5 p.m.  Pups and pooches of all sizes will run “unleashed” on Dallas’ most historic football field turned Texas-sized dog park. And because June is wild for weddings, Wüf Pet Resort & Spa will stage a Wüf Wedding Chapel for doggies to declare their love and “mutt-rimony.”

“We knew it was important to hold two Dog Bowls this year,” said David Luther, chairman of Friends of Fair Park.  “In April, thousands showed up for the event and we know many look forward to returning in June.  There is an undeniably avid group of dog lovers in the community, and we want people to know that Fair Park is a fun, dog-friendly place.”

The Dog Bowl will feature live music, an animal-only agility course, exhibits, giveaways, splash pools, caricatures, a canine contest and other pooch pleasers throughout the day.  Operation Kindness, Greyhound Adoption League, Humane Society of Dallas County and other rescue groups will be on site with adoptable pets, affordable vaccinations, microchipping and more. Trainers, veterinarians and other animal experts will offer advice and the latest tips and trends in the dog world.

A misting tent and giant “dip and sip” dog pools will keep canines cool and quenched, while dog owners will have the opportunity to enjoy refreshments (including beer) and other concessions for sale. Other doggy delights will include pooch-pampering services such as nail clipping, plus a variety of pet product vendors will offer apparel, pet grooming samples, dog soaps, information on pet care companies, doggy daycares, boarders, and more.

Small dog owners will appreciate the special gated area on the field where puppies and petite pooches can play and pounce without fear of being paraded by heftier hounds.

For those wanting to extend the day, several rescue groups and dog clubs will be outside the Cotton Bowl for family-fun BYOP (bring your own PICNIC) “tail”-gating beginning at noon. No alcohol or grills please.

The Dog Bowl is free and open to the public. Parking is $10 and available at Gate 11 (Fitzhugh Ave. and Lagow St.), or ride DART’s Green Line to the Fair Park Station. (Please note: Non-service animals are allowed on DART only if they are in crates.) Owners will be asked to observe all current City of Dallas Dog Park policies while at Fair Park.

The Dog Bowl is hosted by Friends of Fair Park, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  Sponsors are WFAA Channel 8, Metro PCS and the City of Dallas.
