When Irish eyes are smilin'... March is the Month of Green and Fair Park is lucky to have the second largest Celtic festival in the United States.
Our very own North Texas Irish Festival draws over 71,000 visitors, international bands, and vendors from across the county. In its 29th year, the 2011 North Texas Irish Festival takes place March 4-6 celebrating Celtic culture, food and entertainment.

It‚'s My Park Day! Another green event is ‚ÄúIt‚'s My Park Day‚Äù, a new city-wide initiative planned for March 12, 2011 from 8 a.m. to noon.
Volunteers of all ages and all walks of life are encouraged to volunteer to help make their favorite park cleaner and greener.
Invested citizens, homeowners associations, corporate or community and civic groups can organize a cleanup, beautification, or recycling projects and family fun activities to enhance a neighborhood park. All you have to do is organize a group of volunteers, identify a park and select the beautification project for the park.

Esplanade recieves honor The Building of America Network recently honored the Fair Park Esplanade Restoration program as an award winner.
This award recognizes the country‚'s most innovative, unique and challenging projects that give back to their respective communities. Completed in September 2009, the project revived the historic Esplanade at Fair Park.
Choreographed and programmed to music, the show fountain has attracted and delighted many a visitor since its opening and will continue for years to come. |

Looking pretty good for 125 years old If you haven‚'t heard, the State Fair of Texas recently selected ‚Äú125 Years- A Timeless Tradition‚Äù as its theme for the 2011 State Fair.
The State Fair of Texas has been the primary long standing tenant of City-owned Fair Park since 1905.
Gates to the 2011 State Fair of Texas will open at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 30. |
