Dog Bowl

On June 6, 2010, the Cotton Bowl will be transformed into Texas' largest dog park leaving Dog Bowl participants begging for more.

During the Dog Bowl, canines (of all sizes) and their human companions (of all sizes) get to run, catch and tackle on one of the most historic sports fields in America ... just as the Dallas Cowboys once did.

With entertainment, activities, and exhibits designed for both man and beast, the Friends of Fair Park’s Dog Bowl is a whole other … um, breed of event.

On Sunday, June 6 (1 – 5 p.m.), Dallas’ most historic football field will transform into a giant-size dog park with live entertainment, giveaways, canine crafts, a pet/owner look-alike contest, an animal-only agility course, frisbee demos and more. A misting tent and giant “dip and sip” dog pools will keep canines cool and quenched, while dog owners will have the opportunity to enjoy refreshments (including beer) and other concessions for sale. Other doggy delights will include pooch-pampering services such as nail clipping, plus a variety of pet product vendors will offer apparel, pet grooming samples, dog soaps, information on pet care companies, doggy daycares, boarders, and more.

The free family-friendly event will kick off with a “tail”-gate party at noon. The Dog Bowl is free and open to the public. Parking is $10 and available at Gate 11 (Fitzhugh Ave. and Lagow St.), or ride DART’s Green Line to the Fair Park Station. (Please note: Non-service animals are allowed on DART only if they are in crates.) Owners will be asked to observe all current City of Dallas Dog Park policies while at Fair Park.
