City of Dallas Fair Park Administration

Fair Park is a division of the Dallas Park and Recreation Department.

As such, the City of Dallas oversees the day-to-day operation and maintenance of this entertainment, cultural and sports destination.

Fair Park became Dallas' second park in 1904, when the City of Dallas agreed to pay the mortgage and take title to the property. In addition, the city built exhibition halls and started a sewer-water system for the venue, with a $125,000 bond issue.

Since that time, the city has leased the land to the State Fair Association for a few weeks out of every year in order for the fair to be held.

You’ll find the Fair Park Administration offices in the Tower Building, between the Texas Hall of State and the Gate 2 entrance to The Cotton Bowl.
